Thank you for visiting us at Bare to Hair. We are Carla and Gillian, a Mother-Daughter team and the authorized agents for Freedom Vacuum Wigs for the Southeastern USA. We live in the suburbs of Atlanta, GA. Gillian has had Alopecia for over 10 years and was fortunate to find Freedom Wigs about a year after her alopecia progressed to Alopecia Universalis. During her first year in high school Gillian wore traditional wigs because it was all that we could find for her. She had sensitive skin, and traditional wefted wigs were hot, iitchy and created heat rashes on her head daily. As her mom, I would have done anything to make her more comfortable, inside or out. Little did I know that traditional wigs were made for people "with hair" and were not durable enough for everyday wear. Overtime, we learned the advantages of a "cranial prosthesis" from Freedom.

Freedom Wigs are manufactered in New Zealand,and have been in business for over 35 years (www.Freedomwigs.com). Freedom Wigs are made with an air-permeable, soft medical grade silicone (often used for burn patients) which completely covers the inside of the cap. The silicone cap is secured by a vacuum effect and made possbile by Freedom's exclusive design. We use a 3-D medical scanner to create a cap with a precise fit . After the silicone cap is made, beautiful virgin (unprocessed) European hair is implanted into the silicone to create a beautiful natural-looking head of hair designed to your specifications. With proper care, a Freedom wig will last 3-5 years.
